Here are some of the shows that have recently dropped or are dropping on a weekly basis that we have been watching and enjoying.

The Paper: This is a follow up to The Office, done in the same mockumentary style. The premise is that Dunder Mifflin has been sold to a paper company in Toledo Ohio. This company’s main business is selling bathroom paper products, it also owns a small struggling newspaper called the Truth Teller, operating out of the same space. Of course, the newspaper staff have the same quirky characteristics as the original series and even includes Oscar a holdover from Dunder Mifflin). We've watched two episodes so far and both have been hilarious and quite true to the original series. It’s a Peacock show but we've been watching it on the Global app.

Fisk: This Australian comedy now streaming its third season on Netflix, is a very fun show to watch. The show follows the trials, tribulations and off the wall antics of Helen Tudor-Fisk (played by Kitty Flanagan) a probate lawyer in Melbourne. Helen struggles to gain a footing and recognition in both her life and practice. All made more difficult by always wearing an oversized plain beige pant suit. The cast of characters that surround her are fun, crazily eccentric which works perfectly with Flanagan's comedic style. I get the sense that Fisk has flown under the radar from the start and is well worth the watch.

Murders in the Building: Now in season five, this series on Disney + has in our opinion continue to be highly entertaining starring Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. From the start of this series, we've loved the consistent quality of humor and creativity. The comedic chemistry between the three stars is awesome and is supported by a great cast of regulars and guests. The show seems to be getting better as each season goes on, but that might be my bad memory just forgetting how good the previous seasons have been. After dropping the first three episodes at once two weeks ago, Disney is now on a weekly drop schedule.

Something that we watched this summer that was a pleasant surprise was North of North on CBC Gem. This is a Canadian series co produced by the CBC, APTN, and Netflix. It takes place in the small fictional Canadian Arctic community of Ice Cove on Prince of Wales Island in Nunavut. It tells the story of a young Inuk mother who tries to reinvent herself after a spontaneous and extremely public exit from her marriage with the town's golden boy. The show is well written, acted and produced. It is extremely funny, entertaining and even culturally educational.

So far September has been heavily skewed towards comedies. However, to balance things out a bit more, we are eagerly awaiting the dropping of the next season of Slow Horses (which I think is due out next week).

Please share your thoughts in the comment section below. What are you currently watching and enjoying? Feel free to give your opinions of the shows listed above as well.
